Kant, Hobbes and myself

Oh no, oh no. Sitting down with the list of my course literature and just discovered that 50% of it is Immanuel Kant and Thomas Hobbes. Please, don't do this to me. Don't make me read scary, german and british philosophers who are about 300 years old. Anything else will do but not this. Did anyone understand them even in 1600-th century?

Ok, get rid of these bad thoughts. You will have to read them and there's nothing you can do about it, but facing it. Face it now. I open Leviathan.

Of Man
Chap. 1.
Of Sense.
Concerning the Thoughts of man, I will consider them first Singly, and afterwards in Trayne, or dependance upon one another. Singly, they are everyone a Representation or Appearance, of some quality, or other Accident of a body without us; which is commonly called an Object.

Really? That's most interesting. And can you now translate it for me?

Bit late, but anyway...

Yeah, I know. I'm probably the worst and most unreliable blogger ever. Although I do have some excuses. Studys. Socialising. Home on holiday. A good deal of driving lessons. New year. New job. Oh, who gives a shit anyway?
I was planning on starting the new year with a small axplock of the year I've left behind. The spring was Annecy and France, new language, new friends, new culture, too many tequila shots, croissants and baguettes, crazy but lovable scottish, american, belgian and dutch roomies, crazy but less lovable german roomie and a good deal of freaks out on the streets (I especially wish to send my regards to the one who looked like a mixture of something odd, with ugliest haircut ever, always begging for beer at Finn Kelly's). It continued with babysitting for two small, lovely girls in Toulouse and trying not to miss Annecy to much. Summer in Sweden and reunion with long lost friends. Italy with two of them, as perfect as holiday could ever be. Autumn in new town, new college, new apartment and new people. Being clueless, freaking out, meeting people, exploring Malmö, joining book club, having a crush, losing it, planning presentations and slowly becoming wiser. Christmas at home with family and extended family/friends. Involving mother freaking out over christmas tree (We are supposed to do it TOGETHER!!!!!) and some action (half blind Grandma by mistake eating placing cards made by 15 year old trolldeg, thinking it's christmas cookies). New year with dinner, dancing, dressing up and pulling strange stuff at random people. Just as it should be.
New year, fresh start, new driver's license.
Yay, this will be a good year! I feel it in my fingers and toes.
